There exist laws about how employers must treat their employees. Employers are required to offer equal opportunity. To make certain this happens, the federal government has established and funded an agency called the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. So what employer do you think was just found guilty of willfully violating the Fair Labor Standards Act on a nationwide basis?
Yup, it’s the EEOC. The federal agency charged with protecting worker rights has been systematically violating the rights of its own workers.
We often hear calls for tougher regulation, but the problem here is regulators who can’t seem to follow their own regulations.
Here’s another bizarre case of the unexpected. The Virginia branch of PETA — that is, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals — just filed a report about their animal shelters.
My kids have donated to no-kill shelters because they don’t like the idea of killing stray pets that don’t quickly find homes.
Well, don’t tell my kids, but PETA reports that under its “ethical treatment” 95 percent of the dogs and cats they “rescued,” were then killed.
As always, don’t listen to what folks say; watch what they do.

don’t forget the Department of Education that limits what teachers can teach, or the Federal Reserve which is not Federal and has no “reserve”. or how about the department of defense that has aggressive attack plans invades civilian privacy. yeah some times i wonder who comes up with these names.
I note your piece about the Equal Opportunity Commission. Back when Ontario had one of hose, I am told, among its hundred-odd employees there were:
1) NO males
2) very few whites
3) hardly any heterosexuals
The lady from that office who came to address a meeting at my university was beautifully dressed and had terrific legs, but appeared to know very, very little… no doubt she was an “equal opportunity employee”

To paraphrase Reagan, the scariest words are “I am from the government, and I am here to help”.
It does not surprise me that regulators don’t follow their own rules now, because they never bothered teaching them to the new generation taking over. Work ethics are out the window and have been for years. As for PETA, no surprise there, they have been caught slaughtering animals and then dumping them so they don’t have to pay for disposal of the bodies. Anyone that donates to that screwball organization needs their head examined. Parents need to be aware of what is really going on. PETA like our government just scams you out of your hard earned money for their own benefits.
When these so called Charitable organizations stop paying their administrators in the high six digits I may once again be interested in donating money to them. But for now I stick to my Church, and feeding my elderly neighbors that I know would go hungry if I didn’t.
Watching what public officials do and comparing it to what they say can be disheartening. You are forced to conclude that there are two sets of laws – one for the little people and one for those on the inside. Needless to say, I am not on the inside. Government grows more distant with every passing day and the feeling is returned tenfold.
The arrogance of government functionaries never ceases to dismay me, and PETA, an organization that fully believes in force, even violent force, is something I would never touch, except, perhaps, with a ten-foot pole.
I do donate, however, to North Shore Animal League America, which really does uphold its no-kill ideal.
