A Brief Against Weiner

Sharing

Congressman Anthony Weiner: Insert joke here.

Perhaps because I pronounced his name as “whiner” rather than “wiener,” I didn’t titter as much as the rest of America did upon the Twitter release of his notorious underpants photo.

Weiner stonewalled for as long as he could. Was the photo in question of his own dear, downstairs corporality? He couldn’t “say with certitude.”

Yesterday’s overdue confession that he’d fouled up a direct message on Twitter, sending it publicly, instead — and then lied about it — confirmed nearly everybody’s suspicions. (Everyone it seems except too many slanted lame-stream media folks, who instead attacked the now magnificently vindicated Andrew Breitbart.) Weiner admits to having sent inappropriate messages and photos to attractive, younger women.

But, alas, Weiner’s mea culpa was accompanied by his insistence that he would not resign.

For lying about his accounts being “hacked” — and thus cry-wolfishly raising national security issues — and for proving himself an utter idiot at a simple messaging system, he should. That is, he should resign for falsely reporting a crime (and it is a crime to hack someone else’s online accounts), and for utter, bumbling incompetence.

Demonstrating humiliating incompetence at Twitter should remain a prerogative of private citizens, not politicians.

And it’s not as if he couldn’t land on his, er, feet. He could join one of the newer news comment shows, become Eliot Spitzer’s new partner on, perhaps, Weiner/Spitzer.

It has a ring to it.

This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

Another lib/prog “taking one for the gipper”?
Filling up the air time with drivel worthy of the American Idle View, whilst the Congress relentless plays on with business as usual, the 2 parties giving the illusion of choice, only disagreeing about the rate with which they dig the grave of our republic.

Anthony Weiner, feeling fine
put his underwear on line
People thought he was a fool
showing off his little tool.

(with apologies to Oscar Meyer!)

It is great to know that the football player Tim Tebow, half the age of Rep. Weiner, has displayed much more stability and maturity than the latter.
Tim is one to promote as someone our children and grandchildren can look up to.
As far as I am concerned, I believe that Weiner should resign as soon as possible–he committed immoral acts and he committed a crime–but then again, the one who married him and Huma had displayed the same immorality.

I think this would be a great time to bring up recall elections as a legitimate recourse for the citizens of his district.

I think that everybody that is involved in the Anthony Weiner case is a scammer including the women he sent pictures to. Now, the women are surfacing in the news in hopes of a chain lawsuit they can file against him and make some money off of the deal. Before this came up they remained silent. The only reason everyone started stepping out of the shadows is to make some money and or get famous. Impeach Anthony Weiner and gag order the women so we can get over this unimportant issue and move on with real issues like the economy and gas prices. News like Anthony Weiner pollutes our information system and delays solving issues like fuel prices. What a shame we waste so much time on these scammers.

I don’t care if he resigns or not. I heard too many NYers tell C-SPAN audience they want him to remain in office and they think he’s a good representative. More proof that we get the government we deserve. Wiener’s constituents deserve him. The best suggestion I’ve heard so far is that NY redistrict him out of his seat. The state loses two seats – one in the city. Let it be Wiener’s.
