On January 5, 1914, the Ford Motor Company announced an eight-hour workday and a minimum wage of $5 for a day’s labor.

No wonder the unions were able to get into the auto industry. Those cars sold for about $900 apiece. $25 dollars a week wasn’t a bad wage in those days, but look at that profit!
