John Stossel, on his terrific Fox Business show, explains how and why switching to private security in airports would be an improvement over the intrusive, prurient, incompetent, wasteful Transportation Security Administration.
As the show explains, airport participation with TSA security is optional: San Francisco has a private service instead, and Orlando contemplates opting for that right now.

This ignores the problem. the head of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, is not doing the job he was hired for. In addition to mismanagement of the TSA, he has not controlled the border, which is one of the 5 tenants of Homeland Security. He has blatantly admitted such in interviews,as well as admitted that he does not know when, if ever, he will be able to. When did admitting that one cannot do one’s job be acceptable for continued employment? Is he doing ANY of the tasks he is charged with? No one seems to know and no one seems to be addressing the problem. Why has not an Inspector General brought him up on charges? Is it like with Hillary, where they did not bother to appoint one for all of the 4 years that she was mismanaging the Secretary of State position? or is the Inspector General that should be monitoring HSA incompetent also?

I don’t blame Jeh Johnson. I blame his boss and the Congress that allows this to go on.
